Job Description

Great Basin College (GBC) is seeking a responsible and proactive Fitness Center Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will be a strong communicator with excellent customer service skills, able to work independently and assist with various tasks in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist fitness instructors as needed
Greet students, faculty, and guests, providing assistance with equipment and inquiries
Clean, sanitize, and maintain gym and weight room equipment to ensure a safe and clean environment
Collect payments for services and memberships
Support Student Government activities and other campus events as needed
Perform receptionist duties, including answering phones
Address and correct individuals who do not follow safety protocols in the fitness center
Lift up to 50 lbs. as needed
Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

Prior experience with Microsoft Word and Excel
Excellent customer service skills
CPR/AED certification preferred
Must be reliable, responsible, and able to work independently
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
Available to work evening and weekend hours

Compensation:
$13.00 per hour

This is a part-time, non-benefits eligible position that can work up to 19 hours per week with a maximum of 79.5 hours per month.
