General Statement

Quinsigamond Community College (QCC), the largest community college in Central Massachusetts serving over 10,000 students in degree and certificate programs, adult education and workforce development, seeks several dynamic, student-focused Academic Coaches/Counselors. QCC is committed to 100% student success as evidenced by its ambitious strategic plan. This commitment is furthered by a college-wide Equity Appraisal-currently underway-designed to assist the College to better serve students who have historically been underserved and underrepresented in higher education. Academic Advising is a holistic wraparound support team designed to promote students' success in meeting their goals of employment and/or transfer after successful completion of their program of study.

Instructors will teach course(s) within a specific discipline to a diverse student population at our Downtown Worcester campus surgical technology simulation/skills labs and clinical sites in our service area. Responsibilities will include instructional preparation, assessment of student performance and assistance to students.

The full-time workload for this position may take place in Worcester or any another QCC instructional location.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provides classroom, laboratory and/or team-teaching instruction and facilitates individualized and non-traditional approaches to learning as appropriate.
  • Develops and/or revises instructional materials with other faculty members.
  • Supports program compliance in Massachusetts Department of Public Health Radiation Control Program regulations and Joint Review Committee on Education and Radiologic Technology standards.
  • Collaborates with other program faculty to develop and implement program policies and procedures.
  • Performs clinical site visits on a rotational basis.
  • Correlates clinical education with didactic education and evaluates its effectiveness.
  • Collaborates with the program faculty with periodic review and revision of clinical course
  • materials and evaluation process.
  • Assists the program coordinator with program accreditation and assessment requirements.
  • Assists program coordinator with lab needs including but not limited to equipment purchases, maintenance and repairs, dosimetry program and lead apron inspections.
  • Develops and applies instructional methods that engage students of varying learning styles and abilities
  • Provides academic advising and assistance of students.
  • Participates in college service activities in concert with the provisions of the MCCC Agreement.
  • Actively supports the teaching and learning process; practicing honesty and integrity in and out of the classroom; strives to create and support a student-centered environment while fostering academic innovation and excellence.
  • Works actively with other areas of the college to ensure a spirit of college wide collaboration, collegiality, civility, and teamwork.
  • Respects the function of dissent in an academic institution while advancing a collegial atmosphere of campus collaboration.

Job Requirements:
Minimum Qualifications
  • Baccalaureate degree with appropriate education courses
  • Valid Massachusetts license in Radiologic Technology (Radiography)
  • Current certification with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (Radiography).
  • Possess a minimum of four years full-time or equivalent radiography experience completed in a full-service healthcare setting to include routine, fluoroscopy, trauma & surgical imaging.


Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's Degree
  • Two years or more of successful college teaching, preferably in a community or technical college setting.
  • Possess two years Computed Tomography (CT) full-service healthcare setting.
  • Valid Massachusetts license in Computed Tomography (CT)
  • Current certification with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (Computed Tomography).
  • Proficient in venipuncture
  • Experience with computerized simulation.
